This work explores balance through contrast and repetition. Three vertical bands divide the surface, creating a quiet rhythm between presence and absence, light and weight. Soft washes of black and grey move across the canvas like suspended atmospheres, dissolving and reforming as they travel through the composition.

The restrained monochrome palette places emphasis on texture and gesture rather than colour. Areas of dense pigment meet lighter, diffused passages, suggesting moments of tension and release within a controlled structure. The central white column acts as a pause within the composition - a space of stillness that allows the surrounding marks to breathe.

Rather than depicting a defined subject, the painting exists within an atmospheric field, inviting contemplation of balance, interruption, and the quiet movement of form across space.
