This work explores contrast between control and disruption. A dense black form interrupts the surface of the canvas, partially concealing the marks beneath it while allowing fragments of gesture and colour to emerge around its edges. Red and orange drips fall from the dark field, introducing a sense of rupture and movement against the otherwise restrained palette.

Across the surrounding space, energetic posca pen marks and layered acrylic strokes create a restless surface, suggesting moments of interruption and release. At the centre of the composition sits a small anatomical drawing rendered in graphite and charcoal. This quieter, detailed element acts as a point of focus within the work, introducing a human presence that contrasts with the more abstract gestures surrounding it.

Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the painting invites reflection on tension between concealment and exposure - between what is hidden, what is revealed, and what remains unresolved beneath the surface. The restrained palette and layered materials allow the work to shift subtly under changing light, revealing texture and detail over time.
